About Sham
THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE TEDDY BEAR.

Salaam! (Peace!)
My name is Shamil, which means people person.
Most call me Sham for short.
I basically stole my brother's camera when I was 10 years old, and I kind of never gave it back. I'm an established photographer now (my brother still loves me, don't worry.)
Although I'm primarily a photographer, I'm currently a project worker at Integrate UK, working with young people on tackling: honour-based violence/abuse, FGM, grooming, extremism & radicalisation.
On top of that, I also am a Youtube vlogger, workshop facilitator, events host, vlogging teacher, journalist and documentary filmmaker.
Not to mention, your all-round chocolate bear.
I've had my work previously featured on:

I was listed in the 24 under 24 most influential people in Bristol, by:
Rife Magazine.
I'm passionate about storytelling.
I've always been fond of the quote:
"A picture paints a thousand words."
I like to think that is reflected in my work.
By capturing a moment in time, you're bringing back all the memories of those moments, those feelings and those beautiful stories..
Sound like something you want to work together on?
Let's get coffee.
OTHER PROJECTS
Project What If: We The Curious
.jpg)
We The Curious opened an exhibit named Project What If,
this awesome exhibition opened up the floor to all Bristolians encouraging them to ask anything science-related. I was lucky enough to capture portraits of the interviewees.
This is now a permanent instillation, see more info here.
Bristol City Council Presents: Where's It To
Here's a film I did for Bristol City Council on promoting local businesses and shouting out community champions!
BBC NEWSBEAT ON BRISTOL
Here's a piece I did for BBC Newsbeat on why
I love the city of Bristol, see more here.
BBC RAMADAN VLOG
Here's a vlog about Ramadhan I did for the BBC,
watch it, it involves cake.
YOUTUBE VLOGGING COACHING AND CLASSES
I'm a YouTube OG
(original grandad. I'm trying to say I've been mentoring YouTubers-in-the-making for a while).

I've ran the Vlogging Masterclasses/Workshops for festivals such as

And also at secondary schools for years 7-9!
CHARITY + COMMUNITY WORK
In 2017, I became the Bristol Team Leader & head rep for Islamic Relief, mainly handling The Cake Campaign/#Cakes4Syria
operations to support those in need.
.jpg)
We went from strength to strength, covering not just Bristol, but: Bath, Gloucestershire, Exeter, Swindon, Newport, Cardiff, Swansea,
Port Talbot & more!

I had the pleasure of working with these crazy-selfless legends to help those in need in Syria, Yemen & Palestine. Through cake sales, online fundraising & community spirit, in the space of 30 days, we raised £63,000.+

Since 2017, my team has raised over £500,000 for those in need. ❤️
