ABOUT SHAM

The man, the myth, the teddy bear.

Salaams (peace), I'm Sham!

When I was 10 years old I stole borrowed my brother's camera & I kind of never gave it back. Fast forward & I'm now a established professional photographer & don't worry, my brother still totally loves me.

When I'm wearing my superhero cape, I'm a wedding + events photographer with 12+ years of industry experience, when the cape is off & the glasses are on, I'm the Outreach lead for an amazing CIC called Babbasa, which promotes the aspirational development of young people from under-represented backgrounds.

I shoot documentary style, capturing things candid & freezing those magical moments of you & your loved ones, so you can relive those stories every-time you look back.

It's really important that we're comfortable working together & so I like to become part of the family on those big days.

I also juggle between being: a creative producer, presenter, workshop-facilitator, youth worker/mentor, activist for gender & racial equality, journalist & team-leader. 🤙🏽

If you'd like to work together, please: enquire here.

Recent projects:

“We The Curious opened an exhibit named 'What If'. This awesome concept opened up the floor to all Bristolians encouraging them to ask anything science related. I was lucky enough to capture the official portraits for the exhibition as well as interview the participants involved. This is now a permanent & ongoing installation.”

“With over 12+ years of experience in the events & portrait photography game, I have had the privilege of covering registries, Muslim/Sikh/Christian/Hindu marriage ceremonies, mehendis & conferences. I love capturing special moments!”

“I have the honour of being the team leader of the Islamic Relief Bristol crew. During my time with them, our team has raised over £1.2 Million pounds for those in need in Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, Turkey & others.”

Integrate UK Campaigns

With a focus on tackling gender & racial inequality I managed projects in secondary schools across Bristol. These developed into films which are internationally used as educational resources for students, teachers & policy makers.

Here is a film on racism within schools:
